Our Church Family
The New Market Seventh-day Adventist Church is a church like no other! We have approximately 700 active participants in our campus family. Most of our members live right here in the New Market area. But we also have many that come from Winchester, Page County, Harrisonburg, and from all parts between New Market and the West Virginia border.
About 300 of our active people are under the age of 19–which is not surprising, since we share our campus with two excellent schools: Shenandoah Valley Adventist Elementary, and Shenandoah Valley Academy. With all this youth and energy, our campus is never a dull place to be!

The ministry of our church began in the New Market area in the late 1800s. In fact, for many years, New Market was the headquarters of the Adventist work for all of Virginia. The story of our current property begins with Shenandoah Valley Academy in 1908, and it is a story well-worth hearing! We are forever indebted to Elder Richard Harris for writing Divine Destiny, a history of our campus that shows in amazing fashion how God’s hand moved to establish the Adventist work in the commonwealth.

Our current worship facility was completed in 1976 and holds up to 600 worshippers at a time. Our worship includes Christ-centered biblical sermons, as well as inspiring music that ranges from traditional hymns, to classical/baroque, to more contemporary selections.
About Seventh-day Adventists
The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a vibrant and thoroughly unique Protestant church with approximately 19 million members worldwide, including more than one million members in North America. Our driving passion is to know Jesus, to help others to know Him, and to prepare the world for the soon return of Jesus to this earth.
Adventists share many of the beliefs of other Protestant churches. But we also have some unique beliefs, based solidly on the Bible, that we have found to be liberating, empowering, and positively life-changing! Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have about our beliefs at 540-740-8550 or at via email at nmchurch@shentel.net.
