Pastors and Staff
Reed Richardi (B.A., M.Div.)
Lead Pastor
Pastor Reed is a Valley native and returned to New Market in 2013 as our associate pastor for outreach and evangelism. In 2022 he led a core team to plant the Valley Fellowship church in Edinburg where he continues to serve as lead pastor. In 2023 he also became the lead pastor for New Market. Reed has a deep love for Scripture and loves to help people see the Bible as a unified story that leads to Jesus. He has a passion for discipleship and believes that the greatest adventure in life is being a disciple of Jesus and helping others to become disciples. He finds joy in giving the gift of ministry away, placing the blessing of ministry into as many hands as possible.
Reed, his wife Jade, and their four children enjoy living in (and renovating) their home on the mountain, where they can hike, pick mushrooms, tap maple syrup, and enjoy the many other adventures that valley living provides.
Buz Menhardt (B.A., M.Div.)
Associate Pastor
Pastor Buz brings a special focus to our campus community by mentoring young people in principles of service and Christian character development. He has been an associate pastor at New Market since 2008. Some of his favorite ministry assignments include involving students in community outreach projects, neighborhood visitation, worship service participation and conducting summer day camps for children.
Pastor Buz is married to Kelly and together they have three adult children. He and Kelly appreciate the small town atmosphere of New Market, especially the accessible outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and snow sports. Pastor Buz says: “We have been blessed to experience dynamic growth within our church family. The wide range of activities, numerous small groups, the strong educational programs at Shenandoah Valley Adventist Elementary School and Shenandoah Valley Academy, bring life to our church family. It is a privilege to be here and to serve.”
Jaclyn Knight
Administrative Assistant
Jaclyn Knight returned to the valley in 2015 when her husband, Ryan, became the Head Boys’ Dean at Shenandoah Valley Academy. They continue to live here on campus with their two boys, Jackson & Jordan, who are students at Shenandoah Valley Adventist Elementary. A registered nurse by training, Jaclyn joined the church staff in 2022 as part-time Administrative Assistant while continuing to work as a home health nurse in the area.
Having grown up as a preacher’s kid, including time here in Potomac Conference, Jaclyn has personal experience with the life of a church and enjoys helping our church family be informed, connected, and served in the best way possible. She also often serves our church through her interests in music and photography. Living on campus, she is passionate about boarding academy life and stays strongly involved with ministry at SVA.
Keila Hernandez-Morales
Administrative Assistant
Keila moved to the Valley when her husband Obed began working for Shenandoah Valley Academy. They have three children: Matthew, Alyssa, and Michael.
